Ivo Nikić, Underwater Love, akryl na płótnie, 100×100, 2023

Originally from Kosovo, Ivo Nikić is a multidisciplinary artist. Nikić was born in 1974 in Pristina and graduated with a degree in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2003. He is interested in urban landscapes, corporeality, music, dirt, waste, and aesthetic clashes. He draws inspiration from street art aesthetics—stencils and spray paints—which he combines with glazing techniques and textured painting. He strives for an effect of “messiness” and a sense of fast-paced execution. Nikić is inspired by hip-hop music and sampling. In his works, one can observe juxtapositions of various motifs, a nonchalant aesthetic, and a sense of humor. The artist plays with associations, deconstructs the world into pieces, questions ready-made solutions, and redefines categories of beauty and ugliness. Nikić has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Poland (CSW Zamek Ujazdowski, BWA Zielona Góra, Galeria Studio, Galeria Arsenał in Poznań, Fokus Łódź Biennale) and abroad (including Humboldt Berlin, Umspannwerk; Bat-Yam International Biennale of Landscape Urbanism in Israel; Rotor in Graz, Tokyo Fashion Week, and others).

Andrzej Fogtt is an artist who lives and works in Warsaw. He was born on October 9, 1950, in Poznań. He is a graduate of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań, where in 1974 he earned a degree with distinction under the supervision of Prof. Magdalena Abakanowicz and Prof. Zdzisław Kępiński. Fogtt is particularly known for his large-format series of compositions, which stand out for their dynamic colors and fascinating forms. Over his career, he has won numerous awards, including accolades at the 8th Art Festival at Zachęta (1979) and the Grand Prix of the Polish Painting Festival in Szczecin (1984). He represented Poland at the Venice Biennale in 1984 and, in 2009, received the Gloria Artis Medal awarded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The artist has participated in over 60 solo exhibitions and 40 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. This year, Fogtt celebrates the 50th anniversary of his artistic career.

Grzegorz Klimek (b. 1987, Kłobuck) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. He has participated in numerous exhibitions, including the international art fair POSITIONS in Berlin and a group exhibition of Polish artists in London. Grzegorz Klimek’s paintings reflect his continuous search for the fundamental structures of various objects that surround us. To create his paintings, Klimek uses a variety of media, which, through mixing, scratching, and repainting, result in original structural effects. The completed paintings often consist of several layers integrated into a cohesive composition. Interestingly, the artist also makes his own paints for his works.

Piotr Trusik (b. 1994) graduated with honors from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He works in painting and drawing. For his outstanding artistic achievements, he has received the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship five times, the Rector’s Scholarship of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw three times, and the Mazovian Voivodeship Marshal’s Scholarship twice. He was a finalist of the Bielska Jesień Painting Biennale and the Autumn Art Salon “LOOSTRO” at the Bureau of Artistic Exhibitions in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski. He is the author of the solo exhibition “Pomiędzy” (“In Between”) at the Ujazdowski Castle Center for Contemporary Art. His works have been exhibited at the National Museum in Warsaw, the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw, the Louvre in Paris, the National Museum of Moldova, as well as in Birmingham, New York, San Diego, and Tokyo.
