Mid-Summer Night – Warsaw Edition 2026: where art meets capital
On 16 July 2026, we participated in Mid-Summer Night – Warsaw Edition 2026, an exclusive event bringing together the worlds of real estate, capital, collecting and premium art. Skowronscy Art Gallery was honoured to contribute to the event as an artistic partner and an active participant in an expert discussion dedicated to the value of art.
Mid-Summer Night was structured like a carefully directed performance. Its programme guided guests from conversations about cities, architecture and the value of historic spaces to discussions on prestige, conscious collecting and the role of art in wealth creation, followed by an evening of networking in the gardens of B’Fort.
Art as a collectible asset
One of the central parts of the event was the expert panel “Art and Capital. Between Emotion, Prestige and Collectible Value”, exploring the relationship between art, emotion, status and long-term collectible value.
Skowronscy Art Gallery helped shape this part of the programme, while the gallery’s owner, Rudolf Skowroński, shared his professional knowledge and practical experience of the art market. The discussion brought together the perspectives of gallery owners, art-market experts, collectors, auction houses and wealth-management professionals.
The panel considered whether art can form part of a diversified portfolio of assets, how the profile of contemporary collectors is changing and where the boundary lies between the emotional significance of an artwork, the prestige associated with its ownership and its market valuation.
Capital builds portfolios; art builds memory
Art is not a conventional financial instrument. Its value cannot be reduced to an acquisition price, an auction result or an estimate of future resale potential. An exceptional artwork may simultaneously enhance prestige, express the individual character of a collection, preserve a story and create a legacy for future generations.
