Exhibition Opening – Ryszard Woźniak – The Cat’s Bell

Cat’s Bell is an exhibition of works by Ryszard Woźniak, focusing on his output from the 1990s and his latest works from 2026. Ryszard Woźniak, a painter, performer and teacher, was a member of the legendary Grupa, active in Warsaw between 1982 and 1992. From the outset, his work has been closely linked to the observation of reality and its critical, often ironic commentary.

The works on display were created during a period of intense social and geopolitical upheaval. Their starting point was the childhood drawings and artistic play of Woźniak’s daughters, which the artist transformed into a distinct painterly language. Within this seemingly light-hearted, at times absurd form, references emerge to the reality of the time, politics, conflicts and the uncertainties of the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries.

The exhibition offers a perspective on this period through Woźniak’s characteristic blend of irony, imagination and critical observation.
