In this vision, Kuker’s figure transforms into a dynamic, tangled mass of biomorphic forms that seem to simultaneously create and consume the central figure. It is no longer a guard in a ritual costume, but a living organism on the verge of chaos, reminiscent of surreal nightmares. Boiling, fleshy shapes entwine human limbs, creating an image of struggle or symbiotic unity. A particularly symbolic detail is the character’s feet: one wearing a simple, homespun slipper, the other a regular trainer. This seemingly trivial dissonance emphasises the inner conflict between the intimate, private ‘self’ and its public, everyday incarnation. The image thus becomes a dramatic self-portrait of an artist struggling with the power of his own creation, trapped in the body of a phantasmagorical being that is both his work and his tormentor.
